Dear Tony, Thank you for your questions. It was nice meeting you after all of our emails. Please find below, my response to your questionnaire. Romolo Cimaroli

1.  Small business owners should not have to suffer through loss of business during any construction periods.  I would like to see small business owners compensated, during construction periods, through the reduction of their property taxes.  Therefore, city planners must take into account these new guidelines during their costing process. This process, I believe will be more fair to small business owners in the future.

2.  The majority of our residence are not in favor of the TTC "Right of Way" planned for 2005 on St. Clair Avenue.  The majority do agree that we need more city wide transit.  Therefore we need more dialog between the residence, the City of Toronto and the TTC so that the residence will feel more comfortable and understand what the benefits to this new "Right of Way" will bring.

3.  To revitalize our small business, I believe we should consider these 5 solutions.
a.  Adapt long-term "free parking" hours.
b.  TTC fares could be "free" Saturdays,Sundays and Holidays
c.   Increase funding for B.I.A areas.
d.   Ward 17 needs parking.  I will encourage large land owners to make use of unused potential parking facilities throughout the Ward.
e.  Encourage more business owners to keep their store front sidewalk areas clean.

4.  I believe that every property owner has a right to reconstruct or change their property within the City By-laws and official plan.  I also believe that the surrounding property owners need to be consulted and informed and have a say in any intensification project because it will effect the quality of life for all the residence.

5.  I will support the decision of the Councillor of that Ward.

6.  I will support the decision of the Councillor of that Ward.
