Eat Drink & Fiesta on Corso Italia
The Corso Italia BIA is holding it's 6th Annual Toronto Fiesta starting
this Friday. There will be lots to see and do - including the world's
longest strand of spaghetti, stretching farther than you could imagine
- so be sure to check it out.

Big Changes Coming to the Website
That's right, MyStClair is about to change again. For those of you
keeping count, this will be the 3rd upgrade. Those who have had
a peek say it looks really good.
There will be a lot of new content as well, including a restaurant
directory, photo gallery and much more. If you have any suggestions
for a section, let us know.
So keep posted. It's only a matter of days now.

Streetcar Update
There's not much change on the Streetcar Right-of-Way issue as we
await the appointment of the consultant that will be conducting
the Environmental Assessment, which is due any day.
If you haven't yet, please be sure to have a look over our section
on this issue, so you can get caught up on what's happened so far.

SWRC Looking For A Treasurer
As previously reported, the position of treasurer on the Steering
Committee of the St Clair West Revitalization Committee is still
available to the right candidate. If you know someone, or are interested
yourself, be sure to let them know. It's an important community
initiative.

Wa'ssup!
A quick check of the event calendar shows a couple of very busy
weekends ahead.
This weekend there is the Toronto Fiesta as well as a number of
BBQs, including one being organized by the Earlscourt Youth Centre.
Next weekend it's St Clair Gardens' turn.
Check the calendar for details - and if you've got something coming
up, be sure to let us know.

Pictures,
Pictures, Pictures
As mentioned, one of the new sections being developed is a photo
gallery. We've got a few pictures to get us started but we could
use a few more - actually, a lot more would be more accurate.
So if you have photos you'd like to share with the community, let
us know. They can be on recent events in your neighbourhood, artistic
shots (if you're so inclined), historic shots - whatever the case
maybe.
Just drop us an email and let us know what you've got.

It Happened On St Clair - by David Raymont
It's called Earlscourt Park, but the estate Earlscourt existed several
blocks east, near McFarland and Peterborough Avenues. The park was
bought by the City in 1920 from Colonel George Cooper Royce, who
was named after his father's foster father George Cooper. The land
on which the park is located was settled by George Cooper in 1831,
who owned a much larger estate and made his fortune selling lumber,
developing the village of Davenport and raising horses. His house,
Preston Villa, built in 1854, was a club house for Earlscourt Park
until 1955, when the City demolished it.

Couch Potato Chronicles - by Jim Murray
Editor's Note: Ok, ok, ok. We're sorry. As a result of the revamp
we haven't been able to keep up with the posting of Jim's latest
Couch Potato Chronicles.
So now's your chance to catch up on your entertainment reading.
As always, there's lots of good insight along with the thoughtful
reviews - and a good chuckle or two.
And we promise to get the missing issues posted 'forthwith' - whatever
that is in metric.

truth. " - G.C. Lichtenberg

Editor's Note
This could be the last time you see this newsletter - at least looking
like this. In keeping with the change we are making to the website
we are planning an upgrade to the look of the newsletter. So enjoy
it while you can. We're sure you'll enjoy the new one even more.
Welcome aboard David Shanoff. He is a prodigious provider of information
and we hope to include more of his contributions in future.
As always, if you have something to contribute let us know. As it
stands, a number of people have already become involved, which has
made it possible for us to grow to the next level. This is truly
one of those things where it's 'the more the merrier' - so come
on in, the water's fine.
