St Clair West Revitalization - SWRC Gets To Work
This important initiative is now really beginning to take shape. Spurred on in part by the TTC streetcar right-of-way issue a number of new developments have begun to materialize.
Facade Program - the first steps have been taken towards helping merchants make storefront improvements.
Design Study - here again, first steps are being taken to establish a look for the area.
The committee is always looking for good people. In particular there is a spot on the Steering Committee for a treasurer. Check the website for more information:

It happened on St. Clair Avenue…
(Thanks to David Raymont for this new feature - we will be adding a section to the website so you local history buffs will want to check it out).
The oldest building on St. Clair is likely the Heydon House, a former hotel built in 1891 on the Northwest corner of St.Clair Avenue West and Old Weston Road. It was built to replace an earlier inn that had stood on the site during the 1850s. At one time, the hotel was notorious as the location for illegal cock fights.

Editor's Note
Yes, yes we know - it's been quite a while since the last issue. Well we hope to get back on a more regular schedule.
We have added some historical notes courtesy of David Raymont. If you have any similar stories or items of interest please be sure to send them along.
We could really use some help - if you have ever wanted to publish a website or a newspaper this could be your lucky break.
