TORONTO, ON — The Toronto St. Michael’s Majors have been Painting the Town Red in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario (HSFO) during the month of February and are approximately halfway towards their goal of raising $2,000. This initiative will culminate during Saturday’s Majors’ game versus the Brampton Battalion, which is a 2:00 pm start. At this time, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario spokesperson and supporter Juve Jesus will be on hand to address the crowd. Also, HSFO representatives will be present to answer questions and hand out information.

Paper hearts are being sold at all Majors’ February home games for a minimum donation of $2. Donors may honour loved ones by writing their names on the hearts, which will be posted throughout the St. Michael’s College School Arena during the month.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario (www.heartandstroke.ca ) leads the way towards greater understanding of the root causes of heart disease and stroke. The Foundation relies heavily on public donations to ensure that vital heart and stroke research continues. They need your help!

The Majors will travel to Peterborough to battle the Petes on Thursday night (February 26th) with the game starting at 7:00 pm. Then, they will return home to host the Battalion on Saturday (February 28th) and Belleville on Sunday (February 29th) with both games starting at 2:00 pm. The Brampton match-up will be available on Rogers television in the Toronto region (channel 10) while all three games can be heard via webcast at www.stmichaelsmajors.com .

Individual game tickets can be purchased at the St. Michael’s College School Arena box office, by calling Ticketmaster at (416) 872-5000 or online at www.ticketmaster.ca .

Notes

Majors’ captain Tim Brent was supposed to appear on TSN’s sports talk show ‘Off The Record’ yesterday evening. However, the 6:00 pm EST show was bumped because of the network’s extended coverage of the 2004 Scott Tournament of Hearts. The episode may air at that time this evening.
