A Parade of Songs by Noel Coward and his
Contemporaries, including Marlene Dietrich,
Edith Piaf, Ivor Novello, Judy Garland, Toronto’s
own Bea Lillie & Maurice Chevalier
The Performers
Tara Baxendale: Tara has appeared
in a wide variety of musicals and dramas, including
Cabaret, The Man Who Came To Dinner, Into the
Woods, Miss Me Kate and the Rocky Horror Picture
Show. She holds a Masters of Music from the Boston
Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music from Acadia
University.
Denys Jones: Denys returns as
to the Deer Park Very Little Theatre having played
The Spririt in the 2002 production of The Cratchits’
Christmas. This time he brings his musical comedy
talents singing the songs of Noel Coward and as
a presenter.
Lori Kilgour Martin: Lori has
a long list of singing, acting and dancing credits.
She has appeared at the Stratford Festival in
HMS Pinafore, Carousel and Our Town, plus in such
diverse productions as The Land of Smiles and
Joseph and his Many Coloured Dream Coat. In this
production she will interpret the songs of Judy
Garland.
Erin McMurtry: Erin is a graduate
of the A.R.T. Institute for Advanced Training
at Harvard University and has appeared in dozens
of films, stage and television shows in both Canada
and the United States including The Seagull, Two
Gentlemen of Verona and TV’s Traders. In Noel
Coward and Friends she will lend her talents to
bringing Marlene Dietrich and Edith Piaf to life.
Barry Nesbitt: Barry is the co-Producer
and Artistic director of the Very Little Theatre.
He has brought to the theatre a tremendous wealth
of experience on stage in Canada, the United Kingdom
and the United States. In Noel Coward & Friends
he will essay the role of Maurice Chevalier who
he remembers appearing on stage in Toronto many
years ago.
Ian Speck: Ian is making a return
engagement at the Deer Park Very LittleTheatre,
having appeared in two other of our variety shows.
Well known at Deer Park as a tenor soloist in
the choir, he will be interpreting the songs of
Ivor Novello and – his own speciality – providing
a glimpse at one of the major influences on Coward,
W.S. Gilbert.
Ashley Thomson: Ashley is also
known to Very Little Theatre audiences through
The Cratchits’ Christmas in which she played the
part of Belinda. Since that time she has returned
to school but fortunately for us she will be seen
in this production singing, amongst other items,
Bea Lillie’s ‘Mad About the Boy’.
