COORDINATOR - HIV/AIDS PREVENTION PROJECT
Funded by the City of Toronto AIDS Prevention Grants
(Full-time contract)

East Metro Youth Services, an accredited Children's Mental
Health Centre in East Toronto, is inviting applications
for the position of Project Coordinator with the HIV/AIDS
Prevention Project to recruit, train and support youth in
the facilitation of prevention workshops and other prevention
initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- overall coordination of project
- recruit, train and support peer educators to facilitate
workshops, co-facilitate youth volunteer meetings and outreach
to youth in their social networks and local community
- design, develop and implement training and workshop formats
- promote and facilitate a weekly drop-in night for LGBT
and questioning youth
- develop a youth volunteer program to identify and facilitate
outreach activities
- provide HIV/AIDS and sexual health training for professionals
and post-secondary students working with youth
- liaise with organizations to ensure the delivery of workshops
and outreach activities
- project evaluation and progress reports
Qualifications:
BSW, CYW diploma, or equivalent combination of training
and relevant experience with adolescents. Training/experience
with current issues related to HIV/AIDS, sexual health,
and LGBT and questioning youth. Public speaking and group
work skills, creativity, flexibility and motivation essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and project
development experience required.
Contract Duration:
Immediately
to June 30, 2005
Full time (35 hours per week)
Salary: $19.80/hour
