Toronto Election Info ...

Who Will It Be?

That's Up To You.

With the municipal election on Monday, now is the time to reflect on your options - and the impact of your choices

There are a number of important issues facing the communities of St Clair and the Ridge - and the choices we make on Monday will have a strong bearing on how those issues play out.

There is, of course, the streetcar issue, revitalization, the Offical Plan, the Wychwood Carbarns and the Drive-through Bylaw.

We have established sections on each of these areas so that you can become knowledgeable on these matters. We do not claim to have all the information, but we have tried to post everything we can - with links to relevant sites, comments from the community etc.- so that every perspective is presented. If you feel there is something missing, let us know about it. If you would like to share your comments and concerns, you are encouraged to do that as well.

We have also taken the initiative of providing access to the information available on each of the candidates that have a direct influence on the St Clair area - with direct links to candidate websites.

We also went a step further. We did not believe we could post all the information we received from the candidates - we felt by providing links to their websites we have made that information available to you without creating an imbalance in our coverage.

Instead, we posed a number of questions to as many candidates as we could. We felt this would be the most appropriate way to ensure balance while also ensuring that specific issues were addressed. We have also posted how we went about it, so that you can examine the process. A number of candidates responded and their answers have been posted - unedited - for you to review, consider and even comment upon - if you so wish.

(Important Note: Those candidates that have not responded are invited to do so. If you know someone who hasn't, we encourage you to encourage them.)

So please look over what we have - and anything else you can get your hands on - discuss it with your neighbours and colleagues, consider your choices and then get out and vote.

Now we have more than restaurants - we have virtually everything - so look here first.

It pays to shop local.

Editor's Note: It's time once again to renew your 'license'. We hope you find our election info to be of value as you make your choices in this important municipal election, which I heard one candidate refer to as the 'first real election of the new amalgamated city' (or words to that effect). Let us know what you think about the issues, the candidates (or just the weather). See you at the polls.
